I"ve always be amazed at how some guys on this site can see a picture of an F-20 and know what year it is. I can only tell the year by a few changes. I"ve always believed the smooth steering gear meant the tractor was made in 1935 and the 1938 and 1939 models had the removeable rims and center cast wheels. Besides a duckbill being early (1932 to 1934) I have no idea what year the tractor is, am I missing something? Maybe some of these guys are only guessing and have it narrowed down by a few years.

There are a few things different on this tractor that I know of, seat, starter & battery, fenders, exhaust pipe.

I"m gonna guess a 1936 or 1937. From the picture I cannot tell if the radiator is the canvas type or the shutter type. I see a lever for the brakes but cannot see the other side to notice any pedals. If you painted the tractor the correct color for the year, then I would assume your tractor to be a 1937. More then likely I"m wrong, but Dave I think you"ve just created a new game for all of us on the site!!

Here is what it looked like when I got it a few years ago. We swapped out the tires so it would be easier to transport, and got the fenders from another tractor that I've since sold.

It is a '37 serial number FA 70989. I have alot of fun with it, putting around town and taking it to shows with some of my other old iron.

Life is good,

There are year specific changes but you are right over the years a F tractor can be so modified that only an origional can be spotted by a photo.

Steering wheels changed, V belt on fan, Wheels, Steering columns, Brake pedals and other subtleties give clues to the year of mfg.

Thanks Sloroll, one thing I did not know was the steering wheel change. I'm assuming from cast to rubber coated wire style? What year did that change over occur? My two F-20's have the cast steering.
