Spent this whole weekend cleaning my shop. Imbarased that I let it get so bad.
Nice and ship shape now.
Took the time to pull the head on my 300 this morning. The number 2 cylinder was full of antifreeze. I thought maybe I messed it up when I reinstalled the head after the sleeve job. I then remebered that the number 2 cylinder was full of antifreeze when I origanly pulled the head.
So gona take the head in and get it checked for cracks, looks fine to me but what do I know.
I have to burn about 4 weeks of vacation before Feb 12th so I should be able to get the 300 going and tha 706 redone. I hope.

I saw on your web site that you repaired a t/a on a 400. I have two 400s.The 56 had been setting along time when I got it. The t/a would slip or work intermitantly. It was working very well for awhile. I replaced the Transfluid and then it started slipping again. One day I really needed it. It worked going up the hill. Once at the top I downshifted and only slipped. I think the fluid level may have been low prior to the fluid change. Any thought about this problem? Thanks

We look forward to hearing some 300 & 706 war stories and a few pictures from you the next couple of weeks during your off time.

Sure enough will be some of both. I just want that 300 to just run soooo bad. Every thing was done cept the paint.
I may just have not tightened the head bolts down in the correct order. But I am not putting it back on with out getting it checked for a crack 1st.
Put a ad in the clasifieds for a head just incase. Got 10 re:s for one so shouldnt take to long. Got the spot all cleared out for the 706.
That will be in tommorow afternoon.

They should allow you to carry over vacation, but that's the way the US government is now. You can build your leave up to 30 days. Once you have 30 days accumlated the balance has to be used. When I started you could build it to 90 days and if you had this amount accumlated when the new system became effective you could keep it at that level. If you used any of that 90
days you couldn't rebuild it back to 90 days. I think I had 80 some days when I was thinking of retiring and I had 3000 hours of sick leave. They don't pay for the sick leave so I found a way to take it and I was on sick leave for 18 months and then retired.
The best vacaion I ever had. Hal
