They probably are not stainless. There would be little or no reward for a manufacturer to do that. They may be tinned copper. To see if this is the case (if you are interested) Try to solder a piece of it. If it takes solder reddily, it is tinned copper. Plugs that fire the cylinder reliably, and do not overheat causing preignition, are good plugs. I personally shy away from Champion plugs, however Champion makes plugs accepted as the best there are in formula 1 and other race cars cranking 15-18 thousand rpm.
Good luck, JimN

I would only buy plug wires made with copper wire
and the Autolite 386 is a good plug number. Hal

I agree with the other two posts, copper wire.
However!!!!!I like my copper wire wound around and around a fiber core. Magnetic suppression wire. The reason is that they have no radio static emissions, and full copper conductivity. They also have nice silicone covering that remains flexible in the cold, and resists high temperature melting.
A kit that will fit a Vega, might be a close match. take yours along to compare.

Don't think the Vega wires are gonna work.

The Vega was one of the very first cars to come out with HEI ignition and the fat wires.

Ford Pinto maybe? They stayed with the point systems fer awhile, didn't they?

You may be correct (I remembered the HEI on those with the same old 7mm dia) (did you see my post on the Steering issue scotc below?
I'm taking a break from holding sheet rock over my head while driving the screws in with the other hand.
