Is there a trick to removing the carb on a Farmall M. The only way I have been able to get to the back nut is to remove the exhaust manifold as well. I am also looking for a rebuilt carb if any one knows where I can get a good value on one.

I got a box wrench shaped like a c and it works fine to take the carb off.

I like to take a cheep wrench and cut it short so it fits and swings like you want it to. Then you can tap it with a hammer or use some type of cheater, ie another box wrench or pipe ect to tighten or break the nut loose. You can drill a small hole in the dead end of the now shortened wrench and put a tie wire on it to pull on it or hang it up somewhere. It helps to have the threads clean and lubed with something like neversieze so the nut spins on easyily and the wrench is only used for the last little bit when installing the nut.

I don't know if your setup is different or not, but I just remove the brass nut that has a fuel filter attached to it where the fuel line enters the carberator. This gives enough room to use an open end wrench on the back nut of the carb. Mine is a distillite model I don't know if that makes a difference.

Correct, a box end wrench will also fit in there if it is a short one, and you have to take short strokes, but it WILL work.

Yep theres a few tricks to get to that bolt. The last one I did was get a cheap wrench and then heat it up red hot and bend it to fit. They also make wrench that are bent to fit in places like that. As far as a carb, this site and or value---bitl both have good rebuilt carbs.
