Am I under the wrong understanding that the 300's were all red and the 350's were all red except the grille and the recessed portion of the side of the hood that was painted white. Both had stainless lettering ,(300,350,and I believe farmall or something also was). I'm just curious as there seems to be a lot of 300's getting the white paint on them in the areas previously mentioned. Didn't know if there was a end of the run paint change or such that I didn't here about or a dealer first tractor thing like the H's&M's were you know the first one the dealer got was white the rest were red just like ford was gold and then you could get it painted red&gray or leave them as they were.

The 300's were all red and the 350's were red & white. In the later 1950's, the dealers would offer a free updated paint job with a overhaul to make your 300/400 look like a 350/450. Some farmers repainted their tractors to look like current model also.

I like the all red better than the red/white.
The all red looks more soliderer and tougherer.
Especially with clean chrome insignias.

same here Paul, my dad wants to paint a my 300 like 350 like it is now, but I want to go all red. Yeah, the 300's and the 400's were painted like the 50 series to make them look newer.

Mi the 300's were all red and the 350's red and white as you said. If you find a 300 with white on it some changed it to make someone believe it a 350.

I believe that back in the day,300s were painted like 350s to "update" them in the appearance department when the newer 350s came along.Nowadays its just a personal preference deal,as many consider the solid red color just too much red...and not enough trim.I sorta agree, however,a 300 just isnt a 300 without being solid red.
