I have a 1948 super A that has a zenith carb, but no numbers to identify which model.

the carb is all cast , only zenith made in usa on it. has a 6 stamped in the bottom sectin and a 2 on the top half. that is the only numbers on the entire carb.

how can i find which repair kit it needs?

Banjo, I had a similar problem when I went to rebuild my carb, except mine had 3-63 and B6 in the bottom of the casting. I found a place that sells these kits at www.carbsonly.com. The kit they sent was for 6 different Zenith models (61, 62, 67, 68, 161, and 267). The kit P/N was 778-615A made by BFIC. The cost was $21.95 + $4.85 shipping in '03. I think the only real difference in these carb rebuld kits is the gasket that goes between the two halves and the bowl vent. You can send them an email and they will help you get the right kit.

The book list zenith 167x7 or 67x7, also zenith 161-7 is also listed. I thing that most of the Super A had the 167x7 carb not sure though. As to were to get a kit there all over the place, you can find them on this site, or at your local Case IH dealer. Take the carb down to the dealer and have them help you out. Andrew
