We got old 10-20/F-30 engine back together in F-30 tractor and rolled it over by belt from my F-20. New rings made heavy load for my 20 on belt. After we got oil pumping I tried sending gas to the carb and it took off and ran on its own.Didnt run that good but no water yet so had to stop er. I did notice a fair amount of gas comeing from hole in bottom of carb. Would high float seating cause this ?? The shut off seat was working fine before I installed carb. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Yup, I would guess the floats are too high to shut off the gas, or the needle got crossways when the bowl was reassembled. Unless of course the choke was left on to long while you were belt starting.
