Farmall entry in Wikipedia

If you haven't heard of it, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that anyone can contribute to. A couple weeks ago I noticed it has nothing on Farmall tractors, so I created a listing for it. Click on this link and look it over. If you spot any errors, let me know, or just go ahead and edit it yourself!

For example, I don't expect my list of models is complete, but remember this is a list of *Farmall* models; if you feel the urge to add a model to the list, make sure it is really a Farmall branded model, not International or a pre-Farmall McCormick-Deering (like the 10-20).

The Regular and the F-20 used the same engine and shared most of the same parts and both should be on the same line of large 2 plow as they had about 1 or 2 more horse power than the H and that is what sold a lot of 39 F-20's over the 39 H and the 340 was the follow up to the 300 & 350 and should be on the same line as the 300 & 350

Thanks. I moved the Regular 'up' to the lg 2-plow class. I also moved the B,Bn down to the 1-plow class since they have the same engine as the A. I'm not certain if the 340 should be moved from the category its in; I was under the impression it had the same engine as the 240 (diesel being an exception).

The 240 was sold as a 2 plow, the 340 sold as a 3 plow, the 460 was sold as a 4 plow, the 560 was sold as a 5 plow, Just check the Nebraska tests, the 240 should be in the 20's on Max PTO HP, with the 340 in the 30's and the 460 should be in the 40's. just find that information and you will find out for sure where everything should be and as i said before all these models should be in the 30's HP wise. Super H, 300, M, 350, 340. As some said the 340 was a new model but it still should be in that upper 30's HP range. Just find those tests and anything from 35 to 42 HP should be a 3 plow tractor, 43 to 55 a 4 plow tractor

The 340 was not in the same line as the 300 and 350, it was a new tractor. The next up from the 350 was the 460.

I was under the impression that the 340 was sort of an upgraded and improved super C?

The 240 was the upgraded and improved Super C at about the same power as an H, while the 340 had the power of an M and in my area I would put a 3-12" plow behind the 340 or a 2-12" plow behind a H or that same 3-12" behind an M

The 340 was in the same power size as the 300-350 developed from the H and the 460 was developed from the M, still the 340 should not be classed as a small 2 plow with the power of more than the Super H and Super H being in large 2 plow size

No, the 460 descended from the H lineage. It was the 560 that followed the M.

You could almost say that the 330 and 340 were built by the parts department of the factory. The front half used the motor design and front end of a 200 or 240 and the back half was taken from the 300 or 350. The sucessor to the 340 was the 504. The 340 had no parts, except TA and IPTO, from the largest row crop tractors which would be M-SM, 400-450, and 560.

It was kinda like the screwy cars that GM built in Canada at that time. They would graft Chevy front ends to Pontiac rear ends. For all I know, they could have done the same thing to Oldsmobiles and Buicks.

I think it's great and possibly I'm splitting hairs here but unless I'm mistaken in the trivia section there were somewhere just over 500 000 Ferguson TE-20 tractors built. Sorry for nit-picking, and thank you for taking the time to make an entry, SAm in NS
