Where can i find proper names for parts on a super A? just bought another tractor(1948) and some peices are missing. just would like to know what they are called when i start searching.Thanks. also it is a mag but it has been bypassed with a coil. need to trouble shoot it and see if it works(mag)it is running with coil. where is the numbers on the carb? all i can see is zenith at the moment. has been run on propane for long time.

will have to pull gas tank and give it a good cleaning and replace sediment bowl.needs some TLC but i think it will clean up good.

you will want to get a parts book for the "proper" names. Do some checking (ebay is a good place) reprints are widely available. Just pull a plug wire loose and see if you have spark. I've seen lots of those conversions and they work fine.

closer examination i could be wrong on the mag it has a dist. but where the coil is supposed to be is a square mounted box with one plug for coil wire. on side of dist is small bolt for points voltage. never seen a setup like this. are these type coils still available?

is there a picture of a mag i could see. the reason i ask is this tractor runs good. buti would like to get it to as original as i could. without extra parts hanging here and there. the guy said it was converted to 12 volt, but the gen is still on it and i dont see any thing that would indicate it is 12 volt. no resistor anywhere.add on coil doesnt tell what voltage it is. there are no lights on the tractor, ignition switch will not stop , have to pull batt cable or ground out.
