Seen a combine engine today at scrape yard. What size are they and it is worth picking up?

also What tractor will the motor fit. Will see if I can get some numbers off it tomorrow...Thanks

To give you some idea on how many IH engines were used in their combines here's a few listed. Hal

C-60, C-113, C-123, C-135, C-153, BD-220, GRD-214, GRD-223, C-169, C-175, BD-264, C-221, BD220, BD,331, C-263, D301, D-360, C-301 gas, V-304, V-345, D-414, V-392, D-358, D-436, DT-436, DT-466
and several Wisconsin engines.

LOL.OK OK OK , I get the point, lots of choices to choose from. So I will put each one of the options on a piece of paper throw in a hat and take my changes on which paper I draw out....LMAO

The first combine we had was pto driven, then we had one with the Wisconsin engine. Both were made by IH. I always liked the sound of that Wisconsin engine. Had one on the IH wire tie baler too. Hal

I missed the D-282 engine. My manual doesn't list either of those engines as being used, but that doesn't mean they weren't used. Hal

Keith: I'm assuming this was a 4 cylinder IH engine. I think you will find most 4 cylinder engines all the way from C-123 upwards were used in IH combines of various sizes. Not sure about engines as large as M, W6 or W9, combines were not large in those days.

Sorry to say this but thats about like asking what engine is in a car that has just drovew by my house. Theres a good number of engine that where used in a good number of them. LOL. By the way if a car did drive by my house it would be funny since my drive is a mile long LOL

Old I just figured that they used specific engines in IH combines. I guess I did not make myself very clear about make of combine it came from.

Differant years from what I know used differant engines. Shoot I have even seen dodge slant 6s on combines. Plus I just had to give you a hard time LOL.
