I have heard of some paint that keeps your tank from rusting and wanted your opinion. I don't think my tanks are in too bad of shape, but should i use it anyways? does it work w/ diesel and gas? how do I apply it?(pour it in and slosh it around) thanks for the help.

I used POR 15 to seal the gasoline tank on my H about three years ago. This year I noticed some blisters on the bottom section of the tank. I have not checked on what my options are, if any. Up until this past summer, I was well satisfied with the product.

The current crop of gas tank sealers are excellent and I've used them to save many tanks. If your tank is still mechanically sound though, you shouldn't need it. If there are weeping leaks at the seams or pin holes then yes, slosh it! Be sure to check if the sealer you use is alcohol proof as there it is in some gasolines. Diesel shouldn't bother it at all. Just follow the directions on the can and you can't go wrong. My personal favorite is POR-15. At about $14.00 a quart it sounds expensive, but when you consider that it will save your tank.....

I tried POR 15 and had success. The inside of my tank was pretty rusted. Follow the directions to the letter.
