My fianee's uncle has a nice Farmall 450 with NF, fast hitch. TA is good and it runs good. Needs paint. Her uncle's dad bought it new, and we would like to keep it in the family. How much are 450s selling for?

I've seen them go for $400 for a parts tractor all the way up to $7000 for restored. A good, running, original example should be worth $2500 to $5000 depending on overall condition. Just my opinion, anyways...

I was looking at a 450 narrow front, fast hitch, 1 owner, diesel tractor this weekend. The owner was asking $2750 for the tractor. The tin was pretty good, tires not so good. To me, the part that is priceless is having a tractor that has been in the family for so long. That would mean more to me, someday it will have centimental value. If you sell it now, just think how much you might pay years from now to get it back. That is if you can still find it.

I agree, $2,500 to $3,000. I wouldn't be afraid to add another $500 to $1,000 just to keep it in the family.

That is right in line with what I see at auction here and the last sentence is noteworthy.
