Hi Guys, Sorry but i have another question. I need to remove the shifter to build the end but I found that the boot is held with a spring and the spring is held by a retainer that seems to be riveted to the shaft. How does I remove that??
THANKS

You need to look a little further down, underneath the bell shaped part, you will find two small plugs, directly across from each other. You can pry these plugs out and beneath them is a pin that just drives out. Once that pin is out you can just pick up on the shifter and lift it right out of there. Sometimes the plugs are already gone, and sometimes the pin has been replaced with a long bolt and nut.
