Shutt it off. Went back yesterday started tractor oil pressure was at #45+ after running about half hour oil pressure was only15-18# at 1800. Changed oil same thing! Whats wrong? Thanks

Probably nothing so whats wrong with 15lbs oil pressure when warm. Has the guage been checked for correct reading against another or new guage.

If you have close tolerances on your rods and mains, your oil pump may be the problem. The gears may be worn and the oil pump housing too.
I would inspect the pump before you run it under load. Hal

Unless it is a very tight dollar job, it is always a good insurance to repace the oil pump with a new one. Afterall if the rest of the motor is worn.... QR

Not too many oil pumps available for these old tractors. There are some replacement gears. Hal

Fourteen months ago I masterminded a rebuild of a 123 inch motor. Had no problems gettig all parts from CIH. Rebuilt the motor as a 135, including a new (ordered) oil pump. CIH has a wider selection of parts than you might imagine. Also, do not be discouraged by some dipsh-- parts person who does not want to research your needs. Their job depends upon you as a customer. A reminder as to that fact does not hurt. QR

They have new gears for that C-123 engine's oil pump for about $100.00. What was the P/N on the new pump? Hal

Will try to contact farmer who had the rebuild done. If that fails-dam- papers evaporate you know, I will have to wait until into the new year. At my local CIH, the GOOD parts lad (the one who actually knows what a C-123 is) takes holiday time at Christmas and goes south. Actually, a lot of people in this area take extended vacations south at this season. You really have to plan your business contacts carefully now till March 15th. QR

You should head south too. Suppose to be 50 degrees F on Saturday here in MD. Hal

check tht oil pump end cover,is made out of pot metal. will warp where relif valve spring seats aginst it. leaves gap between cover and pump body. oil squirts out gap and drops engine oil pressure
