I am looking at a 350 utility with power steering and a heavy duty tube type loader. The tractor has seperate pump up front for the hydraulics and two way for the loader. 3pt with live pto, and the TA works as well. I saw him start it after it had been sitting a while and it does not smoke bad and ran fine. HERE is the problem, it will not go into 4th gear and he mentioned a cog might be out of and would need split to fix it. Hes asking 2500 with the loader and 1500 w/o. Is this one that might be worth buying? Also needs tires or at least chains for up herre in the snow(Wisconsin). Help me out please. Terry

Without being able to dicker the price down,I would walk away. However, being a useful Ute I wouldnt give up easily.Dicker and talk that price down.It will cost a bunch for TA and parts plus lots of labor, but once fixed you will have a useful friend for a long time.

It all depends on what you want it to do and how handy you are. Is it all oily and beat to crap or is it used but clean. The hydro screen is a tuff change if you dont have a hoist.
It does need work and tires. I like 300/350U and because it needs work I would probably try to get it for less than $1500 with the loader.

I'd stay away from it. You are always better off to spend a little more money for something that does not need repair, Just ask "Allen in NE"

But Allen loves to buy parts and old tractors he is helping the economy. Some day i think it would be cheeper for him to have me come out that way he would have more time as he would be working them and not spending somuch time tryen to find the answer to his problem, but i get a kick out of it.

I believe in 350Us a bunch.
However!!! I think the price for a broken tractor is too high by about the cost of repairing it. Broken gears are difficult to fix (in most cases) Get an estimate on the repair and (depending on how "mechanical and loving it" you are) negotiate the price. If it were OK, it would be a good buy. it could cost $1000 US or more to fix it. 4th is an important gear, and pieces of tranny running loose (possibly for a long time) are very hard on the bearings and other teeth.
With no reduction it is too high in my opinion. We hav had one since it was tied up in a red ribbon in 1957.

Terry, I think it is about 500.00 to high. I have seen the shifter rails rust up and not shift. we pick up one at a sale that was locked up, the only thing wrong was all three shifter rails rusted up and it was in two gears.(made 2000.00 on that one)
