Hi everyone, I have an opportunity to buy a Farmall C and several implements (2 sickle mowers, 2 disc plows, 8 disc harrow, spring harrow, cultivators, and more) from my cousin who has Alzheimer's disease. His wife recently passed away and their son will be auctioning everything off soon, but he don't know the value of Farmalls. He said I was welcome to buy whatever I need before the auction. The tractor looks to be in fairly good condition, other than surface rust. Looks like it's been sitting (on carport) for many years. The sheet metal is pretty good. The hood is perfectly straight and the grill only has a couple bent bars, and I didn't notice anything missing - other than the seat (now has bassboat seat). I want to be honest with the deal (fair prices), but don't know what to offer on many of the implements. The equipment is located in Tennessee. So,.... if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on this I'd really appreciate the feedback. I want to keep the tractor in the family and may restore it. Merry Christmas to all!

Thanks Haas, and sorry that picture is so BIG. I"m gonna try posting another one but hopefully it"ll be smaller! Yep, I was thinking that plow would be a chore to set-up but it"s been a long time since I"ve seen one used. Thanks for all your advice - that"s just what I was hoping for. I didn"t check the motor on the tractor, but it"s probably stuck from years of setting around not being used. There"s lots of old iron lying around and noboby probably knows what"s there. Several implements are covered in honeysuckle and briars. The cultivators may be the most useful piece out of the entire lot. There"s also a Massey Harris Pony (I think) that has straight sheet metal but a lot of parts from the controls and steering have been taken off and are lying on the operator"s platform. It"s been setting so long it has lichens growing on it. Thanks again for your post! Walter

Well, the sheet metal on that tractor is straighter than most which helps the value. But---If the engine is stuck, the thing is worth well less than $1000. Looks like the hydraulics have a leak. Consider the condition of the tires too.

Thanks Haas, the right rear tire is new and the others are old with around 60% tread). I was wondering about that leak around the hydraulic pump. The oil is very black, like burnt motor oil. I need to look a little closer at that. BTW, where in east TN are you? You may want to come to the auction (maybe sometime in Jan. or Feb.) I live 30 miles north of Chattanooga in Cleveland.

I am near Kingsport. Probably less than 200 miles to Cleveland. Let me know the details of the auction when the time comes.

Everything, including the house and land, will probably be auctioned, but don't know for sure now. The owner is now in a nursing home. I'll try to get some more details and let you know whether it's worth the drive from Kingsport.

Well, I'd say the disk plow in the picture is $100 to $200. More towards the low end. This implement and I assume the others also are not fast hitch and mounted implements on the C are a chore to take on and off, greatly lessening the utility of them and thus the value. Most of the other implements you mention would be in the same price range. Be sure you get all the attaching parts, as there is quite a bit to the mountings for these things. It'll help a lot if you can get the manuals. If the tractor is running, it's worth $1000-2000 depending on condition. If not running, less than $1000. From your description, again towards the low end. However, you never know how these things go at auction. I've seen IH tractors I thought were junk or only good for parts bring as much as $2000 around here in east tenn.
