I just took the light switch assembly off my 1940 H. It's froze up. I believe it's a 4 position switch but I'm not sure. When the tractor is running the amp gage shows a charge so that part of the switch must work. My question is it a 4 position switch and if so where can I get one that won't cost an arm and a leg. The old switch has a Tear Drop type of knob (not a round knob like I've seen.)
Thanks for your help on this.

Carl, check stamms in wayland. I would give cleaning up the original first. The switch is bright, dim, high charge, low charge.
Sometimes the light switch turns the back light on and off according to how its wired.

I HAVE A COMPLETE BOX WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH, ON OFF SWITCH, AND AMP. GAUGE FROM AN EARLY M, AND I THINK IT IS THE SAME AS THE EARLY "H".AT ANY RATE, IT WOULD WORK. I DON,T WANT TO SELL JUST THE SWITCH, BUT I WOULD TAKE FIFTY DOLLARS FOR THE WHOLE THING. PLUS ACTUAL SHIPPING.
