I have a 54 Super C, and am wondering what lights I need to put on it. It has some from Tractor Supply on it.. I went to a Power from the Past tractor show this summer and saw lots of restored Super C's, they either had the bullet style, or the round thin seald beam style lights on it, like the ones on a 450. I am looking to restore this thing some day. Whats you say on it Fellas?? Thanks, Wheaty:)

According to the parts manual, serial # 159455 & up(early '53) had the sealed beams. Those are the sealed beam housings in George Willers photo.

Obviously, opinions vary, but my opinion is that they should not be sealed beams. The original one would be the "pancake" light, which isn't really a sealed beam. It's a unit consisting of a reflector with a bulb soldered into it and a lens crimped in place.

Some housings are in this picture.

George, those housings are the correct housings, and they are for the sealed beam type of bulb. In other words, the reflector, lens, and light element are all in one sealed unit, and fit into those housings.

Sealed beams, definitely. The bullet style belong on 1952 and older tractors, as I recall.

I do not consider myself an expert on Cs or super Cs, but I am thinking that since yours is a '54 it should have the sealed beams.
