i've heard a couple different times live power and live pto for the 240's..mine i'm pretty sure doesn't have it...is there something screwed up with my tractor, or did it not come with it...it's about a 1960-61 model...Also, how hard is it to hook up auxillairy hydraulics on it..right now i don't have any...., other than a loader on it that has the front chain pump type..thanks deanop

Original pumps for your tractor are offered all the time on eBay. An IH dealer has put up a number of new old stock pumps with a starting bid of $300. I think one is listed now.

dean: 240 was never available with live PTO. Live hydraulics however were standard equipment for your tractor. The pump would be mounted just under the distributor and driven from timing gears. From there it would have two steel lines going to resovoir and control valves. It is possible to remove this system.

I Have a "59 240 U and as I can"t say with absolute authority>>>>Mine Has a Clutch actuated PTO and a On/Off Shifter above the PTO Shaft.I also think they all came with AUX hydros in one form or another. Without some pitures to see what you"ve got,I can"t compare
