Just came in from the shop and the old classic movie is on, no more work for tonight. Just wondering who can't seem to get through the year without watching this classic movie. For some reason, whenever it comes on, I have to watch it. Does this happen to anybody else?

Maybe we"re wierd, but our two holiday movie traditions are watching "Planes, Tranes, and Automobiles" on Thanksgiving Eve and "Christmas Vacation" right before Christmas.

I flipped between Life, Dragon and Grinch. That the one good thing about network commercials, you get to watch other channels.

That brings up something else. Around here the cable and dish people are being sued to be able to pick and choose what you want on "Basic"(a la carte) So if all you want is Discovery and Wings and Animal Planet, then thats all you pay for. Thats the way it should be and would be terrific.

One year they ran it locally about three times a week. Got so it was almost always on. I watched it several times and then tired of it. Never been able to get myself to watch it thru since then. Used to like it a lot.

I watched it last night for the umpteenth time, and always wonder if the inspiration for naming Bert and Ernie on Sesame St. came from this movie. It also gives us pause to really take personal inventory and ask ourselves "do we really think we are so insignificant that the world would have been the same without us"? I know that on more than one occasion that question has been widely discussed among ourselves as we watch the movie. A true classic, indeed.

Scott: Got to admit, I've seen this one quite a few times. I know for me Christmas is a factor, however, I can sit back and enjoy Jimmy Stewart in all the many subjects he did over the years. Yes all the way from It's a Wonderful Life to Chyenne Social Club.

I have it on tape, but always enjoy it when they run it on TV.

Shaggy I also realy like Christmas Story with Ralphie - guess it reminds me a lot of being a kid back then. My wife, who's taste are very similiar to mine, hates that movie and can't explain why. What gives? Dick Davis

Same here, Ive also got the Lux Radio Theatre audio playhouse version that used to be on the Radio in the forties I think. It also stars Jimmy Stewart but I havent listened to it yet.
