Are there many 766 diesels, or gas tractors out there?Last new tractor my father bought was a 766 d. in spring of 1973.We live in western Manitoba, no row crops, so it came as a standard, with wide front axle.I vaguely remember a suppley problem so he took one without a cab, so it had the large rounded fenders that were on 06's up here.We later put on an aftermarket cab, similar to the factory one before the one with the rounded wheel opening. We still have it,but it's putting antifreeze in the oil, so probably O-rings on a sleeve or oilcooler?

jcarter, I know of one at Brownwood Texas. I have not seen it. The ad is my Livestock Weekly. Been there for a few weeks, I suspect he wants too much for it. But it is going on the Holiday Season, and he may need to be making Christmas for his family. call and see if he will deal!! The ad reads... 766 opentop, with new loader. $11000.

Hope this helps.

If it did not have the water fiter added to it more then likely it is pin holes in the sleeves and will need and overhaul.

we did put a water filter on it years ago, but I am thinking it could have pin holes to.Sleeves and piston kits are more expesive up here for the 360 engine than a 400 series.Would truck dealers be any cheaper on a 360 kit than CIH ? There was a lot of 360's put in trucks.

Big differance between a 360 and a 361 and i would bet that if you checked around at a good auto-truck parts store that you could get a Seal power or a Cleveite set now i know that you will not get it as reasoniabal as i but i am thinking around 1250 -1350
