OK, can I just remove the torque tube at the transmission without first removing engine from bellhouseing. All I need to do is replace the clutch release arm and rod. The pin that holds it to the clutch release rod is frozen up by rust. Just figured on pulling torque tube far enough forward to remove broken arm and rod.....thanks

Thanks AC and Haas, I have decided to spit at the motor, that way we (Shawn & I) can check the clutch disk, pressure plate, throwout bearing, flywheel and rear main seal. This make more since than spitting at trans since we can complish more. And Shawn will learn more by doing it this way...Thanks you guys

Yes, as AC said you can split in front of the transmission without removing at the engine/clutch housing joint. The drive shaft will slide out of the clutch when you do that. Just be sure you do not disengage the clutch while it is apart and you should have no trouble getting it back together. Use some long bolts to line things up so you can slide it back. In order to align the splines on the drive shaft so it will go back in the clutch, put the PTO in gear and transmission in neutral. Then you can turn the pto shaft which will turn the drive shaft. You will be able to tell by feel when things are aligned for it to go back together.

Yes. When you slide the tube forward the drive shaft will slide out of the clutch disc so you will need to be sure the splines align when you slide it back together. Other than that I don't see any problems. Craig
