Got a 6 foot under bellly mower for $148.00 off ebay. Everything turns smooth and there is only surface rust. Is this a deal?

What color would you guys paint it?

You got a deal -- the original color on mine is sort of an off yellow, whatever that means, you could call Woods and see what they say. Somehow painting it white doesn't appeal to me, but it's not my mower. I think the color of mine is oirginal unless someone put new decals on it. As to red, somehow it seems to me that an aftermarket implement should be in contrast to the tractor, as long as they don't clash. If I ever get around to doing my Super A and Woods mower, I am going to try to find the original color.

You got one heck of a deal on that!! The Super A will do ok on lawn mowing duty with the 6 ft Woods. If you try to bush hog high grass with it that may be another story. I had a 140 with a 5 ft Woods and there was more than ample power for it. The 6 ft will of course take a little more power and the SA has a little less power than the 140, but I think you will be OK.

I just got back in from looking at it again to make sure I wasn't gonna wake up and watch it disappear! Oh ya, I forgot to say OR WHAT! After "Is this a good deal"?. Is Rusty Farmall spoofing me on it being too much for an SA? I have another SA with a six footer on it and it does ok with it.

Off white IH paint it is. Thanks guys I got lucky. I can't believe how good a shape it's in and it didn't go for more $$$.

Yeah, you got a heck of a deal.

Mine is one of the older types which was yellow, but is now red (painted when I got it). I think if I ever repainted it I would go yellow, or more likely white.

Will the SA drive a 6', I have a 5' and it works well on the lawn but if you get into long grass it gives the old girl a work out!

When I was priceing one a year ago they wanted $1,700 for the mower,$250 shipping and $250 to mount it to my Super C. I ended up buying a tractor with a mower on it. I guess what I'm saying is HECK YEH! that's a good deal.

You're not gonna sleep nights now for stealing that thing! Gosh, the cheapest I have heard of before is about $400 and that needed bearings. I would paint it Farmall Ivory. That is very close to Woods color and would look appropriate. If you decide not to get it, let me know!!!!!

Original Woods color is white, but I have also them gray in color. I think it would look good wearing the IH off-white.

On second thought, you shouldn't paint it at all. That six footer is way too much for a SA. You need to trade it to me for the 5 footer I have on my H.
