Hey Everyone,

Does aynbody know a battery make and possible model taht will fit and be powerful enough for a 1946 H? I have my doubts that my local Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts stores will have them in stock..will probably have to order it, so any help with a model will be appraciated.

Ryan, Iam in eastern Pa. I get my 6 volt batteries at Sam"s club. They cost under $30.00. They work for me in my H and M and other applications as good as the more expensive batteries.

There should be a dealer that sells Deka batteries in your area. Their email is : eastpenn@eastpenn_Deka.com and their phone number
610-682-4781.

Exide batteries should be available too. Their email is tbgna@exide.com. Toll free number is 1-800-346-2172. Check for a battery warehouse in your area. Hal

A Group 1 six-volt battery will fit in the existing battery box of your H. Group 1 batteries aren't overly powerful, but will start an H that's properly tuned, and has a good starter motor that doesn't drag.

Go to any farm store, they will have several 6 volt batteries. Measure your battery box first.

There is only one farm store locally...and they don't have ANY batteries, and the nearest taht would is about 2 hours away... Tahts why i was hoping for something that I can ask the local auto store to order.

Then order a Group 1 as Leeedwin says.

I get my 6-V batteries at AutoZone -they carry them for small riding tractors. As someone mentioned, a well-kept ignition system will start just fine on these batteries.
