I just finished searching thru the archives and it appears that a good running F12 for about 1500 is the going rate. (I thought perhaps they were worth more??)

I am about to call on a 1938 F12 and need advice as it relates to proper questions, this is what I plan on asking about it:

is it buried up to the axles is engine running or if not is it stuck
steel wheels or rubber
front end single of double wheel

anything else I should consider

Iam in MI. I just picked a f12. winched on the trailer. about 2 hours of tinkering drove it off. that 40" rear tire and tube will cost ya 600 a pop at miller tire. Bill

The single most important question to ask about an F12 - Is the block cracked in the water jacket? It seems to me there are more cracked F12 blocks then good ones.

An f-12 shouldn"t be more than $ 1000.00 they are mostly for show anymore than anything. For $ 1500.00 it should by in perfect condition with good rubber straight sheet metal and good paint. A fully restored F-20 will only bring around $ 1300.00 to $ 1500.00 to the right collector

If rear rubber, what size? 40" is expensive. Check out miller tire

I'd want to ask if: the owner was aware of any missing parts (i.e. is it complete). Is the block cracked? Are the brake covers rusted through? The more missing / damaged parts, the more justified you are in bringing down the price he's asking.

$1,500 was the asking price.. not the going rate. That figure seems high if you have to ask if it is stuck or the rubber is good.

Just my oppinion and it isn't worth much to most.
