I need rings for an M with a four and one eighth cylinder. From an earlier posting a couple of you guys indicated that a possible source was Wengers or Tisco. Wengers couldn"t fit the need for a 4.125 and Tisco probably has it but is all Wholesale. Any suggestions for a source?

Is this a M&W kit? A dome piston. Thats what I've got and can't find pistons, would like to stay with domes. John

You guys are right, I left off the fact that the engine is on a Super M and to my best observatins it has a rebuild on it followed by a stuck piston and rings in #3 cylinder probably due to a rustout spot in the intake/ex. manifold. Serial # also indicates that originally it was a distillate engine and now it has domed or stepped pistons. Tractor had set up for ?? years but is all there and too good to give up on. Engine did not have much of a groove at top of cylinder. I 'll check end gap and verify the clyinders have tolerable taper prior to assembly.

Wrist pin on #3 is also a little stiff what do you recommed? Does this pin float in the piston and the rod? Looks that way to me. If so, I guess I need to remove the pin, clean it, and lube it.

While I am firing questions, the water pump on this tractor has a spring type arrangement in the center of the pulley. What is it's function as the pulley turns O K but I am concerned that the pump is stuck and merely slipping via this mechanism.

As you can tell I can't speak farmall as good as I should but my dad and I just can't stand to see something old and not running stay that way.

Another thought on this, if you have a regular M with 4.125 pistons, either the block has been bored or it has a super engine in it. In either case the pistons may not be IH but an after market setup. You might want to determine that so you get the proper rings for it.

The 4 1/8 pistons are what is used for the super M overbore. If you have this size in a regular M then the block has been bored, but it should not be a problem. Apparently you have visited the TISCO website, you cannot buy anything from the website unless you are a dealer, so all you need to do is go back to the website and click on "dealer locater". Or, to save some time, just go to the parts section of this site, YT is a Tisco dealer.
