Hello, just purchased a 1975 464 IH and noticed the top link bracket holes are two different sizes in diameter on each size. Do you need a special top link pin or is a bushing required for a CAT 1 hook up? Had a Ford before, not familuar with the IH. Thanks.

IH used an odd toplink pin on some models. The hole on the right side of the bracket is 1" and the left side is 3/4". They use a 1" pin that has one end turned down to 3/4" that fits through the left hole when inserted from the right. The hole for the lynch pin is on the 3/4" end. You can probably get a pin from your local CaseIH dealer for about $10.

Paul

I think they had a reversable pin that could be turned around for cat I or II. The lift arms could be turned end for end for the same reason.

I'm not sure why IH sized those holes differently, but I cut a piece of 3/4" water pipe, ground the OD to be a snug fit in the hole and tapped it in.

On my 340 Cat 1 set up I use a 3/4" pin and it has two bushing spacers, one on each side with a 3/4" I.D. and 1" O.D. The spacers fit into that boss on each side. I believe they are to keep the top link from slopping around in the yoke. Think that will fix you up.
