After reading the very good answers about the numbers on this engine It got me hoping for help with this one. My 51 Super C "W" cast codes is missing the tag. It had a dealer installed fast hitch a zillion years ago and they threw the box away with tag. My engine# is 126327. Anyone out there have a tractor with a really close engine #? What is your tag #? I have 2 other 51's and the tags are about 800 numbers higher than the engine #. I would like to do a new tag but hestitate to put a phoney number on it. Thnx

My Super C is in the 142,000 range and the engine's number is 163 behind of the tractor's number.

Engine and chassis serials did not match on the Super C, you might get close, but you will never know for sure.

Close is what I hope for. It appears there was not much consistancy. From 5 digits different to 2000 is a big spread. If by some strange chance someone with an engine 1 digit away from mind responded it's not to say my tractor would be one away but maybe close. Thanks for your input guys.

Dennis, not sure how close you want, Son's 1952 Super C tractor serial # 150979, engine manufacture code as 4-30-52, serial #152918...HTH
