I have a farmall 656 gas, i put new spark plugs in her and a new battery, she wont start, i took the site glass thats under the tank off and turned the gas line on and gas flowed really well, however, when i put the glass cup back on and tighten the bottom so it does not leak, then turn the gas line on, it barely drips any gas at all...the gasket and everything looks fine, i cant figure out why when i tighten the glass it shuts the gas flow down and how to fix it....if anyone can help me that would be awsome
Thanks Bill

Your gasket and seal must be good if drips into the bowl,do like Hal said and fill bowl before you install it. Regards Martin

Where are you checking fuel flow? Do you have the line unhooked from the carb, or do you have a plug removed from the bottom of the carb bowl? If you've got the line unhooked from the carb, and the line is clear, you may have air locked the sediment bowl by removing it. Turn on the fuel and loosen the sediment bowl slightly until it starts to fill and fuel starts flowing out the line, then tighten it down.

Check the fuel cut off solenoid on the carb. It may be stuck closed or the coil is bad.I just put a new one on mine. Cost me about $28.

It could be a stuck float or plug at the carburator inlet. Try to drain the carb float bowl, with the sediment gas cock open. your sediment bowl should fill up rather quickly. If gas flows from the tank and out the carb drain, all should be good to go there. It is normal for the sediment bowl[glass] not to fill up untill some gas is drawn from the carb as there is air trapped in the line. Once the tractor starts the bowl should fill right up.
1. Do you have spark

Loosen the sediment bowl until it fills with gas.
