How much torque will it take

Trying to get sleeves out of 43H that I had so much trouble getting the head off of a couple of weeks ago. Question today is how much torque can I put on the puller nut without damaging/ruining the top of the block. I've tried it heated as well as when cool and haven't budged the sleeve. Started with a 12" Crescent then used a 3/4" breaker bar and probably have 75 to 100# of torque on the puller now. Plan on letting it sit overnight and see if colder weather will help unless advised I can safely keep tightening the puller. Thanks!! BTW-Think the reason the head was such a problem is the stud between #2 & #3 cylinder had large rust pit just below the thread leaving the stud about 75% of original diameter.

if you have a mig welder weld a row of beads down the sleeve and it will shrink it

They can be a real bearcat to get out. If you have a welder you could try running beads (cover the crankshaft if it is still in the block) the length of the cylinder then let it cool. This might help both break any rust on the back side or shrink the sleeve so it pulls easier.

If they came out easy you wouldn't need a puller.

Remove the side plate on the engine (rectangle with bolts) and heat the outside of the cylinder casting with one or two propane torches. Washing up and down the casting to heat it uniformly as possible. When it is as hot as you can get it, spray cold water down the cylinder sleeve with a plant mister to shrink it. Don't use an oxy torch to do this.

Braze two nuts together, while they are threaded on a rod and tightened together gently, for use on both the top and bottom of your puller to reduce stress on the threads. 200 ft lbs with two brazed nuts each side.
THey pull hard, this should help.
