Is there something on the regular auto market that works as a replacement oil filter for the Super C, or do I need to find a source for actual Super C replacement oil filter?

I"ve been able to get filters for my SA at about any auto parts, or farm & ranch supply store. Or at the Case-IH dealer too. Very common filter. Never thought about adding a spin-on.

If you're thinking about a spin on conversion, try www.cngco.com/oem.engine.html. The P/N for the conversion kit is 538828R91 for $57.50 & filter for $7.50. If you're needing a replacement by-pass filter Wix p/n 51172 or NAPA
1172. They have spin on filters too p/n 51051 or NAPA's p/n 1051. Hal

If you are talking about finding one on the shelf at wal-mart, probably not, but you can go to NAPA or Carquest and find one, but the best place is your local Case-IH dealer, his will even have a new O-ring included, not so with the auto parts stores.

I think you will need to find a replacement one and I doubt that an auto place will have one. IH dealers have a spin on adapter that will let you use a car style filter but I don't know what the cost would be. And don't forget to dig out all of the old O ring or you will be taking an oil bath. Don't ask how I know this.
Paul

Same as Paul & I both know about not removing the hydraulic unit drain plug without loosening the fill plug first!!! (Right, Paul?) :-)

The Fram # is CA 135 or CH 135, anyway it is 135. I just stepped out to the garage and checked the box IH #355-009-R91,376-374-R91, AC#P-306,Fram C-135, Wix# CW-152-MP. These # are as old as the hills and may have been superseeded 4 or 5 times. kevin
