I recently started rebuilding our 706 International diesel farming tractor when I noticed that the Head was painted yellow. The Tractor was bought new in 1967 by my great grandfather and has never been tore down. Is this some kind of special head of some sort? The bearings have the date 1966 on them, I figure that is when the engine was built. If anybody can tell me anything about this i would much appreciate it.

What Allan said; we have a 706D that was bought new same as yours and it has the same yellow primer. Some of the implements have yellow primer too.

NC,

IH was famous for using a yellow primer. I've been running into the stuff all week.

Hi Allan, Have you ever used this for paint removal? I saw it being used on "This Old House".
Hal
PS: It peeled a lot of layers off.

Sounds to me like a replacement head, only "primered", and not painted.
