Alan, The Stage I Super Ms Do Not have the batt under the seat. They look just like a regular ol garden variety M. Monroe shock seat (the litte short one). The hydrolic pump is in the belly of the tractor. The only 2 distinguishible points that are readly obivious to the regular Joe is ...
1 the 264 engine.
2 the disc brakes.
The Battery didn't get moved to the underseat position till the Satge II series. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

If this is same tractor you ask about before, the tractors with battery under gas tank have a lower serial # than # you posted.

DWV: Amazing the lengths some folks will go to, trying to convince themselves they have a Super.

Yes, they made a Super M with the battery not under the seat.

Weights were an option, they should just be bolted to the wheel casting.
