Hi Randy, I have the puck you need for removing those sleeves with a 3/4" hardened rod and nut. You will need a peice of heavy flat steel about 8"square or round on top of head bolts with a 3/4" hole in it. I have one, but your shipping charge would be kinda high. If it don"t work, I will refund your money! Email me if interested.

Somthing else that works somtimes is to weld around the inside of the sleeves. You simply weld a bead around the inside of the sleeve top and bottom with fairley low current and let it cool. The heat will break the rust and the weld will shrink the sleeve, its worth a try.

I rebuilt an A last year and had the same problem. I bought a sleeve puller from a guy in Nebraska who advertises in Red Power. Two of the sleeves came right out but the other two wouldn't come out form love nor money and I ended up stripping the threads on that $75 puller. I mounted the block on a stand, turned the block over and pressed out the sleeves using a shop press. The block on the A is small enough that I could do that. An H or M would have been too large, unless I had one of those really large shop presses. Maybe a local machine shop could do it for you.

The overall diameter of the puck should be 3.290"
instead of 3.250". The undercut section is still
2.980" to fit the inside of your sleeve if this engine still has the 3.0" bore. Hal

You need a puck made that will just fit inside the bore and have enough lip on the outer edge to catch the outer edge of the sleeve. Have a 13/16" hole bored in the center to use 3/4 allthread to pull the sleeve.

If your sleeves are 3.0" the puck needs to be undercut 2.980" + or - .003" and the overall diameter of the puck should be 3.250". The puck thickness 7/8".

I used a piece of 2x2 oak and a big hammer to drive them out. I would be careful using that chisel. Hal

I removed the sleves from an F14 by making a puller to pull straight up. I tightened it way up and then got under the old heffer with a 5lb dog beater and a piece of 2" bar stock. Put the bars blunt end against the bottom of the sleve and give her a rap. Grandpa always told me "A little hammer breaks things, a big hammer moves things."
