I'm gonna try to post a pic of this thing. Maybe someone knows what it is, how it was used, etc?
Pretty sure it is IH from a very tiny logo on one end. Was told it was a lift-all cylinder but...???

There were several different length of the extensions at the end of the piston throw. Before you get some more cycls better make sure you have the correct total length for the imp you are using it on. Plows and discs used a shorter one that you have pictured although you can always saw the end off to make it work. They all had the same stroke which was standard 8in movement. Ones on cotton pickers were realy long.

That's an old one direction cultivator cylinder.

Older windrowers used a similar unit for reel lift, ousing cables off of a tower on one such cylinder.

IH cylinder commonly found on cultivators and other implements both mounted (pickers) and pull behind (discs and plows)
One way fairly fast operating and pretty good for reliability.
