Sounds like you may be finding your problem. With the bolts for the PTO housing removed the whole unit should pull off rearwords. If the "drive shaft" for the PTO is some how locked to the transmission that may be your problem. Dave.

From what the book says it should be a simple remove the bolts and it will pull right off. Are you sure you haven't missed a bolt some place on it?

As far as I can see the whole unit is loose and is out about 1/4in from housing and looks like the it hangs up right around the gear and bearing. Is it a seperate shaft after the transmission that maybe the shaft would pull out also. Maybe I'm just not pry hard enough. It just seems like I'm missing something. thanks
