The bottom oil cup comes off by loosening the thumbscrew. Then you can drain the oil and water, flush it out with some kerosene or gasoline. Install it on the tractor, fill the oil cup, and enjoy your new air CLEANER.

I usually put them in a bucket of kerosene and soak for a couple days. The mesh inside doesn't come out easily. Soaking is easier than trying to take it out.

Yep, that's the best way. I don't think that mesh will come out unless you drill out some spot welds first.

I did that on an M once as a last resort because it had a lot of "beeswings" from shelling corn stuck in the mesh! Putting it back together was a big hemorrhoid if you know what I mean! :<( I wouldn’t tear it apart unless absolutely desperate to get it perfectly clean!

Thanks for the help y'all. I will drop it in some gas for a day or so and get the air hose after it and make a mess. Then maybe I will have a clean air CLEANER. ha ha.
thanks
David
