i recently purchased a farmall h to play around with, it was my grandfathers along time ago, then was bought when the farm sold and sat for 16 yrs before i bought it, took 2 hrs to get running and has run like a champ ever since....on to the questions... is it possible and any obstacle to take the hydraulic pump, and belt drive out of the tractor... any help would be greatly appreciated

Previous posters all make good points. I'm gonna give you one more thing to think about.....

If you decide to remove that hydraulic pump out of the bottom of that tractor, you'll do well to research the procedures in the archives on this site first. That thing is almost certainly going to be heavier than you expect it to be. Don't have your head under it!

Unless you are trying to lose weight for pulling or something, you will gain nothing by doing that.

Both the hydraulic pump and the belt pulley drive were optional equipment. The tractor will still drive and run just fine without either of them, but if you remove them, you will need to either find original cover plates or fabricate some, particularly the belt drive. Removing it will expose the innards of the transmission.
