On this 986 there were some times the things up in cab didn't work and than after about half hour the heater or a/c would start. After several months of this it wouldn't start at all, put new switch in from IHC and it didn't solve the problen. I cut the wire leading up stairs and hook directly onto battery and everything works up stairs. I can not see any wires under dash or cab that look as if pinched. What else could be the problem?
thanks for your help ...Alvin

What switch did you change?? If it was the fan switch or key switch that won't fix this.

The cab power solenoid (107655C1) is most likely the problem here.

It was the key switch that i replaced with a new one. The switch up stairs in the cab work good.

YEp, i concer on that i just love it when people hack into to a wiring system then wonder why it burnt to the ground later . If the cab has no power then it is the Cv relay.

I didn't really think that I hacked imto the wire harness. I located the wire coming down from the switch below the cab and opened it up. It was dead down there. To make sure that things up in cab were working I cut that wire and made contact with the + post on battery and the fams work. Where do I find the Cv relay? Is it behind the dash? thanks for your reply. Alvin

The cab relay is behind the panel between clutch and brake with the fuses.
