It's really amazing the difference between the old worn out injector pump and a new/newer one . The old pump has been leaking fuel around the throttle shaft for over a year, usually just a drip or two in a minute. Here lately it got to be more of a fuel trail than a leak, and at $3 a gallon that's an expensive trail. With the new pump the old 560 starts quicker, accelerates alot quicker and has quite a bit more power. With the old pump it would pull down and out of power and never blow black smoke. With the new pump it'll blow black 20 feet in the air. The old pump was turned up to 2400 rpm and the new one shuts her off at 1800 where it is supposed to and has more power than at 2400. I was really suprised at the difference.

Most of them have been set up to run the 706 spec. and probably have the later style 706 pistons . I have always set them up to the higher settings it ain't a Mack with a Maxi dyne it's a Binder .

How do you tell the difference between the 706 and 560 pistons? I put them in there, but it was an old kit with no papers. It came with the tractor. These pistons had a round recessed top and even skirts.I can't remember how many rings.

Did they look just like the old ones?? if they were the same then may be they were old stock but with the age of a 560 and everything ya get now is for the 706 . With out me seeing them it is real hard to tell . And why would you not upgrade oh wait a min. one of my old customers had to have his S/MTA rebuilt to stock and not going up now he wishes that he had ever since he ran mine and the other buddy of mine's S/MTA now vernon's gets with the prograhm he has me by 24 horses. And i would lay good money that most 560 gassers are running with 263 706 kits in them .

The engine was stuck when I bought it.When I finally broke it loose ,it really broke loose. It swallowed a sleeve into the oil pan and scunged up the piston pretty bad. The tractor came with a very old aged but new condition piston and sleeve kit.So I used what I had.

I hear ya there, Chris.

I've had three tractors that pushed 'em up to 2400. I just didn't like it and always throttled 'em back; the 1800 just sounds a lot more normal to me.

Yep, those pumps are like carbs; you don't notice how wimpy they are getting til ya clean 'em up. :>)
