I recall discussion in pages past about the free gas cap promotion from Navistar. As most of you know, this is an offer of a safer, venting cap for all International/Farmall owners. All you have to do is complete a form and send it in. Some suggested it was a hoax. Others said it was legitimate, but the offer was no longer in effect. Well, I ordered mine for my Super M on October 6 this year. I received it today, via UPS, just as promised. And it fits--even better than the old style cap I had on the tractor. That one never tightened up. This one did. The order form is a Jpeg file at www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Free%20Gas%20Cap.jpg.
The cap is black. I suppose I should paint it red, yes?

Leave it Black. Got mine 'bout 4 months ago debating whether to paint red or leave black. Actually makes a good contrast on the hood that way and the finish they put on it seems to hold up to gas pretty good! Scott

Good to hear. I ordered one for our 240 about a month ago. Hope it shows up soon!

I got a couple last summer for my old H tractors. Took one out of the box and set it down on the bench, got the rattlecan sprayer and painted it red. It had the worse case of fish-eye I've ever seen.. If you paint it, clean it off with something real good. Must have sillycones on em, or oil. ken
