Hello Farmalls, I removed my brakes on both sides and cleaned all parts in a blast cabinet, a friend works at an aircraft repair co. -that is a great way to remove all traces of rust,- and then sprayed with green colored primer. Bought the disks at a clutch & brake shop, the owner suggested that I drill one or two holes in the bottom of the disk cover itself, 1/4" or so and then put a cotter pin in the hole. The movement of the tractor will keep the cotter pin vibrating and therefore keep the hole always open -not cloged up with outside dirt.- 2nd. It will also allow any moisture to escape, eliminating rust should the tractor be parked outside. Makes sense to me. Has anyone here tried this idea ?

It will never work with that "green" primer on a red tractor. Other wise the hole idea might work.

10-4 on that green color, I should have said zinc-oxide primer. I'll catch h*** for that mistake. Thanks IaGary
