I have an original 38" deck- the belt is so lose that the blades will not stay in time. I have replaced the belt but it is still lose. Is there any way to tighten the belt or do the pulleys have to be replaced?

There should be a method of tightening up the tension on the belt.

On my older Cub Cadets the adjustment is the left idler pulley located under the grill. The right idler pulley uses a spring to maintain the tension.

On some of the newer Cub Cadets there is a spring tensioned idler pulley on the deck.
