Are the lights the same for the Farmall B as on the Farmall A? Gonna be shopping these out and want to make sure I get the right ones. Anybody got a parts list can look this up? Thanks.

I think you have the right answers scattered through these replies. But to try to put it in one place and add a little bit more:
- The same teardrop headlights were used on all Farmalls when the B was made.
- The carriage bolt in the bottom of the lights were all the same length but 2 different lengths of tubing were slid on the bolt. A and B used the long tubing for all three lights.
- Headlight posts on both side of the B were the same as the long (left) one on an A. The rear light used a short post. The rear post was to be shortened even more for some mounted equipment. The AV used different posts.
- When the pneumatic lift cylinder was mounted by the radiator, the left post wasn't used and the bracket in your picture was used.
- When the tractor was equipped with a single front light, it was on the right with the left wire taped back in a loop.

I believe the lights are all the same, Farmall A through the Farmall M.

Dave, The lights are the same, however, the mounting posts are different. The "B" requires 2ea. PN# 49394D, whereas the "A" requires 1 ea 49394D and 1 ea 49393D which is shorter due to the mounting into the steering gear casting on the right side.

I think I got it. So these lights I am seeing around with one short and one long mounting bracket are all off an A. I need two with long brackets for the B in order to be correct?

Dave, YOu are right. YOu need 2 long brackets for the "B". The short one on the "A" allows the lights to have equal spacing from the grill due to the steering gear casting. The "B" front casting is much like but not exactly like the "C"

That would sure open up the field! Nothing scarce about those lights. How about the brackets for the headlites? Same on A and B do you know?

Later tractors, (I think 53 or about there) use a seald beam "pancake" or "flat" light assembly. There may be some overlap, and or models with the old style and others with the sealed beam in the same year. Others may know the specifics.

Is this the type? They are flatter than the ones on my M which are more of a bullet shape. I am just trying to get the right lights for a 1947 B.
Don't want to get all done and have someone give me the ole..."nice tractor but if it you wanted it original you got the wrong lights"...statement.

Dave, The "B" and "BN" were not produced beyond 1947 so were never equipped with flat back sealed beam lights. The lights were the tear drop with replaceable bulbs. The only difference from the ones on the "B" and the "H" and "M" was the length of the mounting bolts which were shorter on the "B" or offset tractor models. This is due to the fact that there was not a compression clamp to require the added length as in the "H" and "M" versions. The longer bolt versions, however will work just fine on the short bolt applications.

Those are the new style and (unless someone timetraveled) they are not original till about 53.
Nice though! PS the light bars all have the same diameter. 1/2" iron pipe i believe.

How about this? Better? It has the longer bracket like Paul described above. I'm hoping I have this nailed down now.

That lite bracket is for the left side when used with the cultivator with exhaust lift for either an A or b or BN.

The light itself is correct, I think the bracket should be a round piece of pipe, not that flat bar.
