Hello all from down under, Im doing a little research for my father who is somewhat compuphobic.

I'm looking for an engine rebuild kit for an WD-9 wheel tractor. i think its got a 4 cylinder diesel in it but thats about all i know about the beast oh and its around the 1955 model.

Are the engines in these tractors the same as or similar to the engines in a 554, 564 and the aw d-7 ?

I havnt got any serial numbers so im a little lost.

Could i find any of the bits i need in australia too ??

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Awesome site btw :)

Twinfire,
The WD9 tractor was only ever made in The US and never down here in Aus. No relation at all to the A554 or 564 tractors. If you still need help Email me and I can put you onto a bloke who will be able to help with parts.Regards, Redfan.

Hey there Redfan, thanks for the info, yeah i was a little confused as to what type of tractor he was actually after. A super WD 9 or super AW D 9 i think is the model. Are these two similar ? the one my dad has, the engine starts up on petrol/gasoline then after its warmed up it gets switched over to diesel. He tells me the engine is the same as the one in a TD 9 crawler, same dual fuel/pilot engine arrangement.

You said theres someone in oz who can locate a rebuild kit for this tractor? fingers crossed:)

The SN should be on the left side of clutch housing or transmission housing. The WD9's were made to 1953. Click on Serial Numbers to your left under Research & Info. Look under McCormick-Deering. Hal

Their>Link email is wtw@weberstractorworks.com

They have a kit #G251CH for the WD9 up to SN 18000 for $900.00, SN above 18000 kit #G252CH for $1000.00. Also kit # 305301R91 for above SN 18000 that includes the head gasket for $1100.00.
These are by Clevite. Hal

I think the WD9 engine is 350cid with a bore of 4.5" & the stroke was 5.5". The 335 was a gas engine in the WR9S. Hal

The WD9 used the 335cid engine. The tractors
you mentioned had less displacement. Try this web site if you have a problem finding a sleeve & piston kit. Hal
PS: This is a Clevite kit. They sell kits on this forum too, but I didn't see any for the WD9.

Did the AW D 9 use the direct start diesel like British models ?

The Super WD9 & WDR9 did not have the direct start. My manual has the 350cid engine for the WD9, do you know the displacement of the AWD9 engine? Hal
