I am rebuilding an M farmall and I just pulled the sleeves and found a problem. The number 3 bore started to seep some antifreeze after I pulled the sleeve. It has a small crack toward the front end of the tractor side of the bore about 1 or so inches from the bottom of the bore. It leaks real slow. (about 1 drop every few minutes) It never leaked before and there was never any antifreeze in the pan. Will the new sleeve seal it up and not be a problem or is the block now a boat anchor and it is time to look for a new one?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rick

Sometimes you will find this and the proper way to fix this problem is to bore that hole out oversized and install arepair sleeve and then bore it to take the new one , we have found this problem on a lot of the old MD thru 450 D and yea ya can smear something on it for a bandaid but there is a good chance that it will get worse and then crack the sleeve then ya can either junk it or do it wright the next time. Myself i would prefer to do it one time .

I'm running an M that the former owner said had a crack behind a sleeve. He smeared it with jb weld and put the sleeve in. Hasn't leaked yet.
