Is the block exactly the same on a m, super m and farmall 400, if so how does the 400 make so much more horsepower.

No the straight M had a 248 cube block then the super went to 264 and some 282 I think and the 400 also. Larger bore longer cam duration larger carb. But thats about it. JON

As far as I know same C264 block. Hp difference piston bore and carburator venturi for starters. Some one else will chime in with more details I'm sure.
