Well Now that the H motor is running I have to figure out a Carb for it. I bought a W9 Gas Carb but it sat in water and the area around the throttle butterfly got pitted and rusted real bad. Does any one know what I may be able to build that back up with and smooth it down. Braze, Solder,JB weld,What about that aluminum stuff I see on the infomertial does that do cast as well?Any Ideas? I will probly put this carb on the SM cause a few on the pulling board think its a little big for the H. Unless someone has a M, SH,300 , or similar carb for sale. JON

2 Cents worth of JimN,
Gas tank leak sealing putty is a good material to use to smooth pits inside a carb (assuming it is sparkely clean and sanded/wirebrushed in the pits themselves). Many other materials are gasoline resistant and can't be submerged exposed to modern gasoline very long before they disappear, or flake out. #2 Permatex sealant is alcohol soluble. Getting a new/different carb is probably the best.P.S. is there any resolution of the clutch adjustment?

I lenghened the clutch rod all the way with a bout 2 turns into the clutch pedal and Now I have about 1" free play in the pedal so I think that will do for now. But I still think I need a nother pressure plate. Maybe even a FW thats not so worn. I saw on ebay last night that someone had a adjustment ad on for the rod may have to build something like that. I have some good money into this W9 carb hate to have to scrap it. JON

Magman, I have several carbs, I will have to check the numbers to be sure of the application but I am sure I can fix you up with one that will work. E-mail for details.
