Is there anybody out there who can give some info on Farmall A industrials, I came across one last weekend, and would like to know a little about it, like production #s, years built, what they used them for, etc. Thanks, Matt Semian

What El Toro says, plus they were called International A's with International on the sides of the hood and an International nameplate on the grille rather than Farmall. They also had a square heavy duty front axle. Some were also sold for farm use. Production numbers are hard to come by, the serial #'s were mixed in with the A and B, the A was built 1939-1947, followed by the Super A, which also included International Super A's. Nothing else special about them.

The A's were made from 1939 to 1947. I don't have a breakdown on how many of the AI's were made. The state and counties used these for mowing. The military used them too during WW2
and some were still being used during the Korean
War. They had a foot throttle too. The Army painted them olive drab or had IH to paint them.
They were procured on a government contract. Some of the men that post on here have bought the
military version. Hal
