From the little that I know about them, they are a very good machine. Friend of mine has one and he won't even consider selling it. The engine, trans/final drives are same as a Farmall Cub. That alone would make them a tough, reliable mower. Some, if not all of the 184's have turning brakes. Some other options were 3 point hitch and creeper gear. The creeper gear is very nice. gives you 6 speeds forward and 2 reverse. I believe the electric pto was standard on all 184's, it gives you live pto, blades keep running even when clutch pedal is depressed. If you have a large yard to mow they are really handy. They seem to holding their value also.
